Hello Again,
I wonder if ever your nativity has ever led to a memorable or immemorable tale in your life?
Simply put, have you been Gullible?
If You have come with me on this short episode.
One of my mundane Role as a School Admin was visiting the bank, it was a bittersweet experience as they were ridden with crowds, but a particular bank experience stands out - a harrowing encounter that left an indelible memory.
It began innocently enough. My boss, an octogenarian, would often send me to her account officer, Francis, at the bank. I'd sit in his office, excluded from the crowds, and wait. Over time, Francis and I became friendly, exchanging numbers and occasional texts
This led to a few texts here and there and thinking back I could only have thought it to be simply someone being friendly to me even when he would usually invite me to hang out during the weekend, but I believed sleep was the best was the best way to spend the weekend, and I still do.
So on this faithful weekend, my Dad’s body was barely cold in the ground, I remember having an argument with my mom and I thought I needed space ( laughs in Korea) , there again came Francis’s text to hang out and in my anger I accepted but I knew to clarify where to meet it, which was near his office but upon arrival, he redirected me to another location, where I had to board a motorcycle and allayed my fears of coving the transport fare.
There I began to doubt but off course I had come this far, I might as well see it through. I spent time looking around as I took the not so short trip, it was at the point that I knew.
Mo ti mess up, big time! yet again I had come this far.
Again, I called him, and he directed me towards his house as he met me halfway through, I tried to keep an opened mind as we approached an old looking bungalow and filled with unease but mindful of the many people who he either hailed or hailed him as we walked into the building.
As we entered the apartment, I was greeted by a group of boys playing video games and almost thought maybe it won’t be a bad visit after all, as I watched them played.
This was short-lived as Francis asked what I was interested in eating, I can’t recall my answer but the point of him sending one of the boys to get a meal pack from Mr Biggs and how every other boy slowly exited the room.
Ghenghenghen !
The events that unfolded next are etched in my memory
(I however freely give your imagination the permission to roam),
I really did not know what to do at this point it but clearly no choice for obvious next turn
I thought begging would do the trick, but little did I know I also had to fight, and I guess I won.
As I churn down the rice from Mr. Biggs I was offered, I contemplated on all that had happened as I watched him sleep and I concluded this was a cautionary tale that left me with the scar of the gullibility.
So, have you ever found yourself in a similar situation, where gullibility led you astray?
Let me know in the comments.
So he gave you food and slept?
